Missing 7-Month-Old Baby Found Under Bed

Shannon Dedrick, the missing 7-month-old baby found under bed in the home of her babysitter, has been placed in protective custody. Baby Shannon was missing for over five days before she was found in a box, under a bed, in the home of Susan Elizabeth Baker. Ms. Baker and the child’s mother have been charged with felony counts of interfering with child custody, false report of a missing child, contributing to the delinquency of a child, and false report of a crime. These women are facing multiple felonies in this case.

Kane Kellett: Six Months In Jail For Flipping Off Judge

Kane Kellett found out the hard way what it means to be in contempt of court. Kellett decided that he was upset at having to be in court, so he decided to express his displeasure by flipping off the judge and swearing at him as he was being sworn in. Kellett got six months in jail for flipping of Judge G. Martin Zopp after he was cited for contempt of court.

Kellett was in Court facing home invasion charges and aggravated battery and assault when he flipped of Judge Zopp. Read more about this story and check out a classic clip showing some real contempt.

Two-Headed Baby In China Abandoned In Ditch

Police are looking for the mother of a two headed baby in China tonight, the woman abandoned the newborn in a ditch. The baby has one fully formed head and another smaller head that has eyes, nose, mouth and ears. The baby is doing fine authorities say.

The two headed baby was abandoned in Hanzhuang, China; the baby was just hours old when it was found by authorities who had been notified of an infant crying in the middle of the night. The fact that the child survived is a miracle in itself, the ditch that it was located in was filled with mud and water.

Tower of London Beefeaters Harassment (Video)

When you put together the Tower of London and Beefeaters, harassment allegedly resulted when a female guard broke the glass ceiling. Read the story of female yeoman warder Moira Cameron here along with a gripping video report of beefeaters in action.

What is a beefeater? In British English a beefeater is a Tower of London prison guard, also known as a yeoman warder. Oh those English sure know how to turn a phrase! It is thought that the term “beefeater” stems back to medieval times where daily rations of meat were at a premium.

Epileptic Girl Hospitalized After H1N1 Vaccine Without Parental Consen

Brooklyn school nurses have accidentally given a young 6 year old the swine flu/H1N1 vaccine, sending her to the hospital. New York City has instituted a policy in which school children can get the H1N1 vaccine shot in the schools. They have encouraged parents to consent to the program, but less the half of the parents have signed the required consent form.

Such was the case with young Nikiyah Torres-Pierre. Her mother, Naomi Troy was outraged by the schools action, and it appears that Nikiyah had a allergic reaction to the shot to compound the problem.

Here is the part that kills me from the NY Daily News:

When the nurse called for a student Thursday morning, Nikiyah’s teacher misunderstood and sent the wrong student, Troy said.

The error was compounded when the nurse didn’t check Nikiyah’s name before sticking her in the shoulder, the mother said.

“The school made a horrible mistake,” she added. “They never asked for her name. They have no paperwork….How do you make a mistake like this?”

Anthony Sowell: Six Bodies Found In Cleveland Home

Anthony Sowell, a convicted rapist and sex-offender, is being sought after six bodies, found in a Cleveland home, were discovered by authorities executing a search warrant after Sowell was accused of rape last month. Police were searching the home when they found the remains of two people upstairs in the home. Then they found four more bodies during the search. Sowell was not at home when the search was conducted, and has not been located at this time.

David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana: Two Men Charged In Muhammad Cartoon Revenge Plot

David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana the two men charged in Muhammad cartoon revenge plot, were arrested by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task force after their plot to kill the cartoonist responsible for the Muhammad cartoons was uncovered. The men, childhood friends, were charged in Federal Court and could face up to life in prison if convicted.

Edward Ates, Too Fat to Kill Paul Duncsak? (Photo)

Edward Ates is on trial for murdering his son-in-law. His attorneys are claiming he couldn’t have committed the murder because he is too fat to have killed Paul Duncsak. Is this a valid defense for murder? Can you be in such bad physical shape that you can’t commit a crime?

A New Jersey jury is going to have to weight in on whether or not obesity is a proper defense in a murder trial. Edward Ates is on trial for murdering his son-in-law in New Jersey in August 2006. The defense strategy is to show that Ates could not have physically pulled of the crime because of his weight. His physical condition would have made it impossible for him to have accomplished the physical labor necessary for him to have done what he is accused of doing.

Norwegian Man Arrested for Attempting to Smuggle Snakes and Geckos into Norway (Video)

A Norwegian man has been arrested for attempting to smuggle snakes and geckos into Norway. He had the reptiles taped to his body, in various places. His stash was discovered when he was ‘jiggling too much’.

When a 22-year-old man from Norway got off a ferry that had landed in Kristiansand, Norway after traveling from Hirtshals, Denmark, his whole body was jiggling and shaking. The constant movement of his body drew the attention of customs officials. When he was searched, Customs agent Helge Breilid said that he was found to have 14 royal pythons and 10 albino leopard geckos under his clothing.

Trial Begins for Raymond Jessop: Yearning for Zion Ranch Polygamist Case

The trial begins for Raymond Jessop. He is the first of twelve men who will stand trial in connection with the Yearning for Zion Ranch polygamist case. The case garnered national attention in April 2008 when the ranch was raided and over 400 children were removed from the compound.

Jury selection has started in Eldorado, Texas for the first of the men who will stand trial for polygamy among other charges in the case of the Yearning for Zion Ranch case. The case is notable for several reasons, one of which is that it has been the largest child custody cases in American history. The State took 439 children of sect members into custody when it was raided in April 2008. The Fundamentalist Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) is a sect that broke away from the Mormon Church. Polygamy is no longer practiced by Mormons.
